Methods: underwater transect analysis, morphological measurements of benthic communities of molluscs, calculations of biometric indexes, modeling and geoinformation mapping of the bottom relief of the water areas for implementation of practical tasks. Objectives: Generalization of theoretical approaches to the study of benthic communities and the bottom relief of the aquatic areas; systematization of the existing experience of the authors on the using of field and laboratory methods of biota and bottom relief research of the water areas near the Antarctic station "Academic Vernadsky"; development of a GIS-project based on research data.Results: A GIS project and geodatabase is developed. Data in three-dimensional formats in various software environments (three-dimensional models of marine biogeographic polygons, bathymetric maps, etc.) is visualized.
