The method is based on PIXE using the emission of X-ray of L-series of Hf induced by external beam of accelerated protons with energies 1600 keV in air. The influence of K-series lines of atoms Cu, Zn and L -series of Pb for metrological characteristics method is studied. It is shown that the limit of detection of Hf reaches up to 40 ppm. The research is made of mass content and uniformity of distribution of hafnium in samples of ingots of alloy Zr1% Nb. These samples was obtained with different technologies. It was found that for the electron remelting with electromagnetic stirring distribution of Hf is most uniform.
