The subject are the essence, principles, essence, principles, organization and monitoring of indicators of the causes and conditions that affect the state of the criminal situation in the country and its regions. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the current condition of a criminogenic situation in Ukraine and its regions on the basis of information which is updated regularly. For the characteristics of the crime situation used official statistical data characterizing social-economic development of regions (demographic, living standards and health of the population, the labour market situation and main indicators of industrial production and trade 2013-2015), as well as indices reflect recorded crime: offences committed in public places, crimes committed by persons in a condition of alcoholic intoxication, recurrent crime, crimes against life and health, theft, including apartments, theft of vehicles, robbery, assault, fraud, violation of the rules of traffic safety or transport operation by persons which operate vehicles, criminal offences in the sphere of turnover of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors. Analyzed the difference in the intensity of different types is considered a crime for the first 9 months of 2016, which is represented in the respective maps.
