The subject of research is the methodical support of carrying out sociological poll of the population concerning the safety and evaluation of police activities in Ukraine. The purpose of the study is the preparation of analytical information regarding the perception of safety and evaluation of police activities in Ukraine and methodological tools for conducting the appropriate survey. The study analyzed major foreign and domestic methodological approaches (standards of organization, methods of forming a sample, the main issues that contain questionnaires) concerning conducting extensive research on the topic of security and police activities. With the aim of experimental verification of methodical instruments in October and November 2016 was developed by employees of State Research Institute of MIA of Ukraine the poll "The Security Situation in Kyiv in 2016" 512 respondents from five higher educational institutions of the capital. Also conducted a telephone survey of 105 respondents from Irpin region in Kiev Oblast, who have suffered from thefts in 2016. Designed questionnaire to survey the population for the study of security and police performance assessment and a telephone survey of victims of crime in the evaluation of police activities.
