Aim: to investigate the colloid-chemical bases of the processes of aqueous solutions separation in the ceramic, ultrafiltration membrane and to determine the conditions of their rational operation; to investigate the role and behavior of natural organic matter in water treatment processes; determine the appropriate range of test object and the biomarkers, which are most sensitive to natural organic substances. Methods: physical, physical-chemical, microbiological methods, biotesting, analysis of contents of toxic organic and inorganic matters. The main results: new ideas of regularities of formation of cluster structures in water systems are developed; perspective ways of effective use of new types of membranes, sorbents, new catalytic and photocatalytic systems in processes of conditioning of quality of water are defined. New approaches to assessment of quality of water on the basis of application of vegetable and animal test organisms are offered. Monitoring of content of heavy metals, radionuclides and priority organic pollution in places of powerful water supply points of the basins of Dnieper and the Southern Bug and in ground deposits with use of modern analytical methods is carried out.
