There was developed a diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm and there was optimized surgical tactics for acute calculous cholecystitis complicated with choledocholithiasis in elderly patients. The effectiveness of laparoscopic appendectomy with the use of electric welding of living tissues was studied. The method of transabdominal preperytoneal, and seamless hernioplasty of inguinal hernias with the use of living tissues welding was developed. There was reduced number of diagnostic errors, postoperative complications and mortality. A reduction in terms of disability and the cost of treatment was achieved.
