In this work an analysis of the current state of consumption of reactive power was made. The basic electric receivers and the nature of their work were determined, daily and annual graphs of electrical loads were analyzed. The calculated modes of electric networks of 35-110 kV of investigated connections had been calculated, losses of electric energy at different variants of compensation of reactive power were calculated. The technical means of compensation of reactive power had been analyzed. The variants of compensation of reactive power and their technical and economic comparison were developed. Organizational measures and technical solutions for the optimal compensation of reactive power were proposed. The economic efficiency of the implemented measures was calculated.
