Purpose: study of the influence of various impurities on the structure and characteristics of nanopowders of tetragonal zirconia for the improvement (activation / intensification) of the processes of sealing ceramic materials. Methods of investigation: XRD analyses, BET method, SEM and TEM, DSC, IRS. Nanopowders of tetragonal zirconia 3Y-TZP with SiO2, GeO2, SnO2 additives were obtained by the co-precipitation method. The influence of these impurities, depending on their type and concentration on the structural characteristics of nanopowders of tetragonal zirconia (phase and chemical composition, particle size and their specific surface area, structure) and on the structure formation of the three-component composite systems based on tetragonal zirconia have been studied in detail by the methods of XRD, TEM, DSC and IRS. It was found that additives cause a decrease in the agglomeration degree, the particles size of nanopowders and lead to a significant change in the parameters of fine structure. Thus, the chemical modification of nanopowders 3Y-TZP, which has caused changes in the characteristics of nanopowders of tetragonal zirconia, can have a significant effect on both diffusion phenomena and processes of mass transfer during the sintering.
