As the antigen used a strain of Herpes 040 EDV 9601 rhinopneumonia horses with a titer of infectious activity in cell culture RK-13 - 5,83 ± 0,04 lg TTSD50 / cm3. After concentration and dilution infectious strain of Herpes activity 040 EDV 9601 in cell culture RK-13 stood at 7,20 ± 0,06 lg TTSD50 / cm3. In an effective inactivator selected 40% formalin solution containing formaldehyde at concentrations of 0.12%. The absence of the manifestation of cytopathic action of the virus in samples of vaccine after 3 successive passages in cell culture RK-13 testified to the effectiveness of inactivation of antigen.
