It is shown that the mass yields of the fragments from binary fission of highly-excited compound nuclei are related to the number of states of the two-fragment system at this saddle point. The heights of this saddle point are different for different pairs if fragments, therefore different pairs have different yields. The fissioning nuclei can be described in the framework of our model, because the lowest barrier saddle point height is larger than the macroscopic one-body fission barrier height. Due to this the characteristics of fission fragments are related to the lowest barrier saddle point. The characteristics related to the kinetic energy of fragments can be described in the frame-work of the trajectory equations of fragments motion with the dissipation terms. The Gaussian distribution of the final kinetic energies of fragments induced by the stochastic fluctuations should be taken into account for correct description of the distribution width. The initial point of the trajectory equations of motion is related to the saddle point between two separated well-deformed fragments. The yields of fission fragment mass distribution are well described without introduction of any fitting parameters for the case of very asymmetric and/or light systems of colliding nuclei. The influence of the quasi-fission and the deep-inelastic transfer reaction channels is important for more symmetric and more heavy incident systems.
