M.I.Sitenko popup.description2 The object of study was the restructuring of the spinal motion segment of the lumbar spine after lead exposure and hypothermia; impact on metabolic parameters. Purpose was to investigate the effect of lead and hypothermia on the structural organization of the components of the spinal segment of the lumbar spine of rats with and without ovariectomy, and metabolic parameters of the organism. Research methods were histological, electron microscopy method, cytological, biochemical, bone densitometry method, statistical. The model of general mild hypothermia in rats was developed (decreased body temperature was 2,3 °C), and studied the effect of low levels of lead in the young and aged rats. It was found that hypothermia adversely affecting the bone marrow stromal cells suppress the proliferative activity and the ability to form colonies in vitro cell. Hypothermia leads to negative changes, expressed in varying degrees, in the components of the spinal motion segment, and helps to suppress the metabolism of mineral and organic components of bone and cartilage. Exposure to lead causes a delay in skeletal development in rats with 4 weeks of the experiment. Low-level lead causes degenerative disorders in the intervertebral discs, especially in young animals, and is exacerbated in the case of osteoporosis. In rats after exposure to lead ascertained mineral density reduction due to reduction of the area of trabecular bone, trabecular thickness, trabecular number and increasing the distance between the bone trabeculae. Degenerative disorders in all parts of the intervertebral disc of rats were showed.
