The chronological framework includes the period for the occurrence of these lands to the Russian Empire and the Second Polish Republic. Traditionally, this historic area of ancient Volyn associated with such nodal architectural and urban centers like Luck, Vladimir, Kremenets, Dubno, Ostrog, Olyka, Rivne, Korets, Novograd Volynskyi, Ovruch, Strokostyantinov and others. The purpose of research - the creation of an objective and complete representation of the features of the architectural and urban development of Volyn by the identification, inspection, inventory, cataloging and promotion of monuments of the region. Scope is determined by the needs of the modern activities on protection of monuments, research and design practice. A separate task is to promote the professional training of future architects and urbanists, as well as stimulating the development of tourism and socio-cultural education. The main scientific direction of the subject steel diverse aspects of architectural history within the specified region, starting from the first years of dominance here of the Russian Empire and ending with the current issues of urban planning and architectural practices of the interwar period, with emphasis on the morphological and functional and compositional aspects. The degree of implementation - in the reporting period was published: a collection of scientific works "The architectural heritage of Volyn" (Volume 5, Science Editor P. Rychkov), 29 articles in periodicals and conference publications. He defended a PhD thesis (O. Smolinska). During this period we have also been approved to carry out 2 dissertation topic in the framework of full-time post-graduate (P. Benedyuk and N. Yatsunova). The research results are reflected in the form of scientific reports at 9 conferences, including 6 foreign. The long-term problems associated with the problematic aspects of further research and protection of the architectural heritage of the region.
