As a result, the archaeological map and the corresponding information database of ancient monuments on the territory of modern Ukraine were specially designed and developed. The study analyzed international experience and involved the most effective elements of such systems. The database currently collects 5,000 archaeological sites of the 10th - the first half of the 13th century A.D. An entirely new qualitative and quantitative picture and a detailed map of the spread of all kinds of ancient archaeological sites were created. Implementation of the research theme was made possible thanks to the collection and processing of data, unprecedentely large in volume and complexity: published sources, archival and stock documents, rescue research documentation. Registration, systematization and analysis of the collected material has led to the development and improvement of the description of the structure and record information about archaeological sites, improving techniques and archaeological analysis of the information. In the course of implementing the research theme participants carried out field research to find new information and verify old one about known monuments. A considerable amount of new archaeological sources received and put into scientific circulation. Participants comprehended and summarized the various aspects of scientific topics: problems of cultural and civilizational interaction of medieval societies, the emergence and development of cities and settlements, forming the material culture and the ways of management, ethno-cultural and socio-property foundations of Old Rus' civilization. These issues are reflected in prepared and published scientific works: 11 individual and 3 collective monographs, 8 sections in 3 collective monographs, 4 compendium of scientific papers, 204 scientific publications. The total volume of printed materials is 542.15 conditional printed sheets.
