The aim of the work is to develop a strategy for creating graded electrode nanomaterials based on lithium oxides of transition metals and testing them as cathode materials for new generation lithium-ion batteries. A series of studies aimed at obtaining cathode materials in which a concentration gradient of the material composition directed from the center to the nanoparticle shell has been created for lithium ion batteries with improved performance characteristics. The proposed strategy was to use the hydroxy-acid method to layer more stable materials degrading into a less stable nanoscale core, which has a large specific capacity. This made it possible to obtain gradient electrode nanomaterials, which were tested in prototype lithium-ion batteries. It has been proved that such materials are more stable during cycling and have a high resistance to degradation when discharged by a high current, than gradient-free analogues.
