The purpose of the work is to substantiate and develop scientific and methodological recommendations on the development of the public-private partnership institute in the process of modernization of the coal industry and thermal power engineering in Ukraine. Research methods - logical, comparative and system analysis and synthesis, mathematical statistics, generalizations, using domestic and foreign sources of information on the theme topics, indicators of economic activity of enterprises; Approbation of research results through participation of authors in scientific-practical conferences, seminars, research meetings, as well as discussions with managers and specialists of enterprises and state authorities. The modern views on public-private partnership are generalized, the features of partnerships in thermal energy and coal industry at the stage of civilizational and paradigmatic changes caused by the aspirations of mankind for sustainable development and the next industrial revolution, on the background of significant moral and physical deterioration of productive assets, are explored. Nominated position conceptual projects based on public-private partnerships, which should provide support for industries that quench-tion and development sectors, developing, such as energy renewable. Recommendations on methodical and normative provision of public-private partnerships are developed, first of all, development on the basis of concessions of energy industrial parks on the basis of mines, distribution of energy co-operatives and the crowdfunding movement in the old mining miners' regions. The results of the work are described in two collective monographs, other publications, taken into account in a number of documents submitted to the authorities. The sphere of use of the results of work can be legislative, managerial, research, educational activity.
