Theoretical and practical results: the composition of existing powder wires for surfacing, the influence of alloying components on the hardness and shear stability of chromium alloys are researched. The influence of thermal processing of chromium alloy alloys of parts for cutting and stamping tools of hot metal processing on their mechanical properties and phase composition is investigated. The results are presented in the form of drawings and tables. It is expected as a result of the work of obtaining the optimal composition of the charge of powdered wire for surfacing of parts for cutting and stamping tools of hot metal processing performed with the use of chrome alloys and obtaining on their basis a layer with high performance of the material under exploitation conditions. Novelty: the addition of traditional steels to the manufacture of the tool of alloying elements is proposed. They are superior in their operational properties to existing chromium steel. With the same or even better shear stability of these alloys, their higher hardness provides increased cutting performance compared to high-speed steels. Implementation efficiency: the proposed developments allow obtaining the optimal composition of the surfacing materials for the surfacing of the working surfaces of the die tool, which will allow for welded metal, which, in its operational properties, exceeds the existing chromium steel.
