Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Innovative technology of thermoplastic pipes welding has been developed; this technology provides (1) hot tool planing (flattening of the pipes ends by melting with a hot plate), and (2) butt welding with "fixed linear upsetting", without working pressure control during the pipes' upsetting. Pneumatic actuator is used in the experimental welding machine instead of conventional hydraulic one. A number of welding experiments have been carried out on the innovative laboratory equipment. Design-and-industrial sample of the welding equipment has been manufactured and prepared for industrial testing, for further commercial introduction.
