The subject of the research comprises the scientific and methodological foundations of the course "Geography of Ukraine" for primary and high school and their educational and methodological support; goals and content of forming the geographical map of the world of secondary school pupils and preparing high school students for the future professional activities related to the geography of Ukraine; educational technology implementation in textbooks, collections. The aim is to justify the content of the Geography of Ukraine course in the basic and specialized schools, to develop teaching and methodological support for its implementation in the didactic process. In the course of the second stage of the experimental research, an analysis is conducted on the state of a problem in the foreign and domestic pedagogical theory and practice; monitoring of teaching geography of Ukraine in CEI was provided, and the pedagogical appropriateness of the ways of its further development was specified. The theoretically grounded and experimentally checked methodological basis of selection, structuring and implementation of the content of the geography of Ukraine in secondary schools was determined; the curriculum content, which is experimentally verified under the current conditions of CEI, is developed. The personality-oriented, competence-based, system-active, problem-based approaches to learning geography of Ukraine in primary and high profession-oriented school were developed and implemented in the educational process. The modeling techniques were defined and developed as two educational technologies of mastering the content of the "Geography of Ukraine" course on the basis of competence- and activity-based training. A manuscript of educational textbooks was written. The Concept of teaching Geography of Ukraine in secondary schools as well as the methods of teaching geography of Ukraine was prepared for publication.
