The subject of research is theoretical and methodological issues of optimizing the energy intensity of the national economy through the use of alternative energy sources. The project goal is scientific and methodological justify and development of basic provisions of the formation mechanism to optimize energy intensity of the national economy through the use of alternative energy sources. The theoretical bases of research are the provisions of economic and environmental science, modern electrical theory of renewable energy sources and optimization of energy consumption. Those are methods that were used in the research: abstract and logical, economic and statistical, comparative-historical; expert assessments, logical generalization, statistics; collisional legal method. According to the results of research were created the prerequisites for solving important scientific problem - increasing the effectiveness of measures for energy efficiency of the national economy. The obtained results of the research correspond to the needs of society, priority directions of development of industry, agriculture and services sector of the country's economy, will ensure the development of both this and related research fields. In scientific-research work obtained the following most significant results: developed investment- innovative model to ensure the competitiveness of the energy industry; proposed and justified changes to legal acts regarding the financing of the projects of optimization of the energy intensity of the national economy on the basis of models of public-private partnerships; the authors developed a model of energy market functioning in Ukraine; formed methodical approaches to the formation of organizational-economic mechanism of monitoring energy intensity of industries of economic complex of Ukraine; developed scientific and methodical guidelines on the use of perspective tools of state regulation in the framework of the national energy policy; improved methodical approach to assessing the economic efficiency of investment projects in the energy sector. The economic effect from the implementation of research results into the financial and economic activity of economic entities during 2015-2016 years is 118 710 UAH.
