It was shown the possibility to control the transfer of electrode metal, increasing the stability of arc welding process in CO2 and decrease the electrode metal loss by reducing the duration of the existence of liquid bridges in consequence of applying to the droplet inertial forces with acceleration of 80 m /s2, and the decrease in the depth of the base metal penetration of by increasing the average length of the arc gap. It was defined the range of the pulsed arc welding mode, which ensures the effective control of the geometric parameters of the weld metal, the reduction of electrode metal loss, increased mechanical and tribological properties of surfacing, energy savings and improved hygienic characteristics of the process. Control algorithms have been developed that provide the necessary characteristics of pulsed arc process in a perturbation actions, automatic stabilization system in the form of separate blocks and boards, experimental equipment for pulse changing the composition of the protective gas and the kind of a welding current, a specialized model of the industrial pulse wire feeder. The implementation of welding equipment repair damage to the existing trunk pipelines was worked out.
