Objective of the work is to establish informative AE parameters and characteristics of fracture propagation in structural high-temperature materials and to develop the procedure for assessment of the condition of welded structures in high-temperature service. Methods of investigation are experimental studies of behaviour of high-temperature materials at their deformation for a certain period under laboratory conditions, based on developed special equipment, using AE method and AE diagnostic system EMA-3; analytical studies of pore initiation and coalescence during material fracture, temperature field increase and development of tensile stress on tube inner wall. It is found that at up to 850 °C temperatures changes of acoustic properties of studied high-temperature materials are observed compared to those established at normal temperatures. Analysis of generalized results of conducted experiments was the basis for development of a mathematical model, describing the processes of AE origin and development at damage accumulation and fracture of materials, allowing for presence of defects of the type of pores and microcracks in them. It is established that AE information obtained at high temperatures, is sufficient for evaluation of material condition based on AE data. A procedure for assessment of material condition and taking a decision on residual life of industrial facilities during continuous monitoring of operating high-temperature piping was developed.
