Objective: establish spontaneous and induced by radiation cytogenetic effects and the level of chromosomal instability due bystander effect in peripheral blood lymphocytes of people of all ages. Methods: Cytogenetic. Results: Spontaneous and induced by radiation (dose of 0.25 Gy) cytogenetic effects in vitro in peripheral blood lymphocytes of individuals aged 12 to 102 years old lived in Kyiv were observed. Chromosomal instability and radiosensitivity increased in 60-70 years old people. The greatest number of radiation-indused damages were detected in chromosomal bands 1q32, 2q31, 5q31, 8q22, 11q23 and 18q21 where genes of reparation proteins (C3DR and VWS, PMS1 and WSS, RAD50, NBS1, ATM, POL1) are located. After cocultiations irradiated and nonirradiated lymphocytes radiation-induced bystander effect was registered in nonirradiated cells of adolescents, middle aged and elderly persons, but not in cells of long-livers. Fields of use: radiation genetics.
