Tendencies of changes in the main hydrogeological characteristics of the estuary complex and long-term changes of the climate were established. Typical conditions of the most critical situations emerging on the Kuyalnik Estuary during recent years were determined. Programme of long-term integrated research monitoring was developed and implemented in the Estuary. 22 monthly integrated field surveys were performed in order to monitor hydro-geological, geophysical, hydrological and geochemical characteristics of the Kuyalnik Estuary. Reasons of critical situations in the estuary were revealed and the scientific and methodological recommendations developed, pertaining to technology of justification of the methods to stabilize environmental state of estuarine complexes on the example of the Kuyalnik Estuary.
