Purpose - studying the history of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and the formation of its fund collection, input into scientific circulation new scientific information about the persons involved in the creation and development of the museum, some museum items and stock NMIU collection, analysis and systematization of historiographical works predecessors. Methods - general methods: logical analysis, synthesis, induction and deduction, classification and generalization; specifically historical methods - comparative historical, problem-chronological, statistical and others. Results of research - analyzed and systematized archive material, photographs, data inventory books and other records of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and publications on the history museum. Introduced into scientific circulation a series of archival documents, photographs, scientific information on museum objects and separate collection Stock collection NMIU persons involved in the establishment and development of the museum. Impartial systematic analysis of previous work and new data on the history of the museum and the history of the formation of its stock collections led to new scientific findings and generalizations. Results of research can be used to create new generalized and specialized research on the history of the establishment and functioning of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, a branch of the Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine and other museum institutions are based on its stock assembly to create Texts excursions exposition and the surrounding area, to build a permanent museum and temporary exhibitions, writing instructional materials, training lectures and seminars. The results can be used to create generalizing works on the history of Ukraine, in particular domestic warfare (illustrations). Materials and research findings will be useful in preparing special courses on the history of Ukraine, manuals and textbooks on the history of Ukraine, the national history museum, the history of war. The results are partly put to scientific use in print publications, approved at the conferences used during the creation of the permanent museum exhibitions and temporary exhibitions, writing for excursions of scientific and popular articles on the history NMIU and its units.
