The advantages of ultrasound in the liquid-phase micronization over mechanical milling of the substances have been demonstrated. At the same time the cooling crystallization with ultrasound-induced nucleation was shown to significantly improve the micronization efficiency. Higher release speed and therapeutic activities of the micronized Nefopam was shown in in vitro and in vivo studies respectively. The effect of the particle size on the substance distribution in a suppository mass was studied.
