The modern interpretations of the basic concepts of the research topic have been clarified and summarized. Clinical and epidemiological studies have been conducted in Ukraine to determine the frequency and types of neurogenic urination disorders. It will enable to develop state programs for medical and social rehabilitation and systematize the main scientific interpretations of the roles of various parts of the nervous system (cortical, subcortical and spinal centers) in the formation of sensory and reflex component of urination. The ways of infection of the lower urinary tract have been investigated in various forms of chronic vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord. The methods of eradication of the urinary tract infection were also investigated in these patients. The features of the clinical course of neurogenic urination disorders are elucidated in patients with acute and chronic diseases of the brain and spinal cord.
