The purpose of the study is to improve the normative base of the road complex based on the refinement or establishment of new modern requirements for aggregates from low strength and average strength limestone based on the review of DSTU B V.2.7-125:2006 "Building Materials. Materials from low-strength limestone for road works. Specifications". The method of the research is experimental research and analysis of its results. The research was conducted and the analysis of the results of investigations of physical and mechanical properties of raw materials and materials from low strength and average strength limestone for road works was carried out. The strength indicators and their interconnections with the average density values are specified, grading are given, water resistance indicators and plasticity indexes are established which will increase the quality, reliability and durability of the pavement layers from limestone materials.
