The effect of hydrothermal treatment of support of the catalyst on its performance in the process of aldol condensation of acetic acid with formaldehyde to acrylic acid has been investigated. The effect of the process conditions (temperature and contact time) on the parameters of condensation of acetic acid with formaldehyde has been determined; the optimum conditions of the process have been found. It had been demonstrated that hydrothermal treatment of support allows increasing activity and selectivity of the catalyst in the studied process. The type of the industrial reactor was proposed. The basic technological scheme of the process was developed.
