Object of investigation: mechanisms of a spreading of alcohol dependence in different professional groups of working persons. Methods of investigation: clinical-epidemiological, clinical-statistical. Results: Significant differences in prevalence and clinics of alcohol dependence were defined between working persons of different specialties, which was a priori connected with their life and job conditions. Rapid and destructive changes in the occupational structure of the capable-to-work population under conditions of an economic crisis, a military conflict, and a formation of the civil society stipulate a necessity of a permanent monitoring of health parameters of the main social groups of the population and taking into account these materials in prevention and therapy on workplaces. It is well known that some changes of existence might be included into etiopathogenesis of alcoholism changing its clinical picture and prognosis. An alcohol intoxication itself, combining with effects from social-economic and occupational factors, can be accompanied by manifestations of synergism or antagonism; an increasing or a decreasing of their joint effect; an appearance of unexpected clinical results. The investigation is targeted to minimization of negative consequences of an ecological crisis for mental, narcological, and somatic-neurological health both of an individual person and all the working contingents on industrial objects with certain occupations.
