A purpose of work is synthesis of bis(benzocrown ethers) containing urea groups as crown ether moieties binding fragments, and study of their complexation with cations and anions. Research methods - synthetic, UV, NMR, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, X-ray. It was shown that by the reaction between 4-amino and 4-isocyanato benzocrown ethers can be obtained bis(benzocrown) ureas with both the same and different sized of crown ether cycle with the yield of > 95%. By the interaction of receptor with fragments of benzo-15-crown-5 with methyl iodide in DMSO in the presence of sodium hydride N-methyl-bis(benzocrown) urea was obtained. It was shown that these compounds form complexes with anions through hydrogen bonding with the NH protons of urea function and with cations by binding their by crown ether cycles. In crystals the 2:2 sandwich complex is formed, wherein each potassium cation binds by two crown ether rings of different molecules and anions bind by urea groups. It was revealed that introduction of the methyl groups on the nitrogen atoms of the bis (benzocrown) ureas makes them more structurally prepared for the formation of 1:1 sandwich complexes with alkali metal cations, in which the metal cation is positioned between the two crown ether moieties.
