Methods of investigation: clinical, vertebroneurological, electrophysiological, neuroimagine, neuropsychological methods, assessment of a social functioning and quality of life (Holmes-Rahe method, SF-36), temperament determination, anthropometric, somatotypological, statistical methods. Results of investigation: It was developed and grounded a modern conception of dorsalgias and cervical pain syndromes. It were determined: an influence of constitutional mental (temperament) and somatic (somatic type) features on mechanisms of formation of back and neck pains; a participation and functional peculiarities of thalamic-cortical and reticular-cortical brain systems, non-specific bran system on different organization levels in these processes; the role of P-substance and BDNF factor; conditions of such patients' social functioning and quality of life.
