The aim is to obtain new knowledge about the dynamics of geospace plasma in the altitude range of 200 - 600 km over Ukraine in conditions of high solar activity. A special feature of this period is the increase in the probability of disturbances on the sun during high solar activity, which results in the disturbances in the neutral and ionized components of the geospace environment. The research methods consist from the incoherent scatter (IS) technique, vertical sounding technique, the statistical analysis of the observational results and theoretical modeling of physical processes in the ionosphere. The results of experimental and modeling studies of variations in ionospheric plasma parameters are given, including the results of measurements of the vertical component of the velocity of the ionospheric plasma drift and the analysis of its altitude - temporal variations, for different seasons, periods of solar activity and space weather level. The results of the study of dynamic processes in the ionosphere are shown in terms of disturbances in the ionosphere caused by geomagnetic storms and solar eclipses. Modernization of IS radar facilty, design and development of algorithms and measurement data processing programs enhanced the radar capabilities and increased the reliability of ionospheric data. The results of this study are used to develop and refine a regional ionospheric model, and can be used in basic research of solar-terrestrial relations and geospace, for applications associated with the effect of the ionospheric plasma on the communications system and operation of satellite facility in outer space.
