The work objective is to develop methods for studying and resolving the pressing scientific and technical problems on the creation and improvement of the advanced machines and systems. The research methods: analytical, mathematical, computer and experimental simulation, theoretic mechanics, theory of dynamic systems, systems analysis, theory of reliability, thermodynamics of irreversible processes, failure mechanics, failure physics, theory of automatic control and theory of optimization, mathematical statistics. Basic results: a mathematical model of 3D interactions between the vehicle and track of an optional contour is built; effects of variations in the form of the wheel profiles on stable running and the dynamic qualities of interactions between the open cars and railway gauge are studied; it is shown that additional couplings in the bogy of an advanced freight car enhances significantly stable running and the dynamic qualities of the vehicle; a mathematical model is built to study transients conditions of the motion of passenger trains formed from new-generation cars, and the factors affecting the dynamic qualities of a passenger train are determined; the new possibilities are presented for improving methods of the synthesis of algorithms for an onboard active system for supporting the target-oriented efficiency of advanced objects of rocket technology in such a way as to balance aids of control for functioning these objects and technical aids for eliminating causes of undesired evolution of a potential crash; a new equation of a free rigid body related to center of mass is proposed, and a possibility of building the stable algorithms of spacecraft reorientation for problems of Earth remote sensing is demonstrated using this equation; a new approach to the determination of limited probability motions of the unstable mechanical systems enhancing the prediction of such motions and characterizing the system as a whole is presented; a design of the burner providing fine dispersive spraying, efficient firing and stable burning coal-water fuel is studied; a mathematical model of a multiple probe section for measuring the reflection coefficient resulting in the first use of a two-probe section to measure in a wide band of frequencies is developed; a possibility of measuring a resonance frequency and quality factor of resonators is demonstrated; based on two coupled biconical resonators for measuring a dielectric constant of dielectric materials, the capabilities of a primary transformer are estimated; methods for determining a minimal number and duration of tests of complex technical systems resulting in minimization of a necessary volume of the reliability tests are validated; methods of a guarantee evaluation of probabilities of failure and crash of a technical system for better evaluation are presented using an additional information about the system; the mathematical models for distributing the requirements for the probability of a non-failure operation between the elements of the technical system are constructed to reduce the problem dimension. Applications: rocket and space technology, railway transport, coal power engineering, measuring instruments. Product Description popup.authors Алпатов А.П. Горєв М.Б. Горбунцов В.В. Заболотний П.І.
