Subject of research - terms and definitions of global navigation satellite system. Objective - proposals motivation for the development of a global navigation satellite system in the context of the regulatory framework. Development and improvement of the regulatory framework with a view to providing the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the terms and definitions during navigation activities. General research approaches - system analysis, comparison, concretization. Similarity method was used in the process of determining cause-and-effect relations in the regulatory documents on the standardization of terms and concepts in the field of navigation. As follows from the analysis, regulatory framework for navigation activity is not established well both in Ukraine and in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The solution of the given problem can be realized through the adoption of appropriate decisions on the settlement of navigation activities in Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Military regulatory document "Global Navigation Satellite System. Terms and Definitions" is provided for the use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It can also be used in enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of ownership, which provide navigation aids to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or perform other services and activities. Research work should contribute to development and improvement of the normative base and elimination of terms incompleteness in the field of navigation. Report is reviewed and approved at a panel session of scientific and technical section of the research department of the development of weapons and military equipment for the Special Forces of the Central Research Institute of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated on 17/11/2014, Record No.35.
