The article of researches is accordance of hydrophobic rock-dust to the operating standards of quality. Aim of work - to define grain-size distribution of rock-dust and give out a conclusion about her accordance to safety "Rules in coal mines". Methods of researches are generalization and analysis of results, methods of mathematical statistics, calculations on standard methodologies, experimental researches by means of polarization microscope. As a result of implementation of work methodology of experimental researches of grain-size and mineralogical distribution of hydrophobic rock-dust is worked out by means of polarization microscope of МП- 2; computer program allowing in the automatic mode to determine such grain-size descriptions of finely-dispersible particles of dust. Mineral and grain-size composition of finely-dispersible hydrophobic rock-dust is investigational for the enterprise of LTD. "Union of industrial enterprises". Results of introduction of developments - the executed work allows to promote safety of conduct of mountain works, assists warning and extinguishing of explosions of braize, to extinguishing of fires in the mountain making of coal mines, that has a large socio-economic value.
