The purpose of the study is to review SOU 45.2-00018112-029:2008 "Traffic Safety. Rumble strips. General technical requirements. Application rules" and to develop of the national standard (DSTU) with taking into account the requirements of the current legislation, building norms and national standards in order to improve traffic safety on public roads. The scope of the study is design, construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of public roads and the development of traffic management schemes. The method of research is theoretical. The results of the study are the following: Development of DSTU to replace SOU 45.2-00018112-029:2008 " Traffic Safety. Rumble strips. General technical requirements. Application rules" with taking into account the world's experience, requirements of the current national regulations on the use of rumble strips on public roads in order to increase traffic safety level. Social and economic efficiency of the development is to reduce the accident rate and the number of deaths on the road associated with exceeding safe speed before land pedestrian crossings and before traffic interchanges at the same level, as well as to reduce the number of road accidents due to "sleep at the wheel." Impact of the study.
