Aim of the work: revealing a relationship between structure and properties of a composite material based on a detailed analysis of characteristics of individual components and heterogeneous ensemble obtained under different synthesis modes. Methods of XRD, EPR and UV-visible spectroscopy were used. Based on the analysis of dynamics of structure of three component system ZnO-СеO2-Ag2O under the influence of temperature and concentration of zinc oxide the effect of synthesis mode on a structure of formed composite material was studied. Based on the XRD, EPR, UV-visible spectroscopy and luminescence analysis, the influence of nature of used for synthesis precursor on the type of intrinsic defects of structure (in cation and anion sublattices) of matrix of initial ZnO was determined. It is shown that formed in ZnO matrix type of defect is caused by the nature of precursor. It was determined that a material with defects in anion sublattice is more active in the processes of phenol photodegradation. Scientific significance lies in the identification of factors that affect on the characteristics, behavior and processes of formation of complex systems ZnO-CeO2/Ag2O(Ag) under conditions of influence of concentration and temperature. Practical value: physical conditions of formation of composite heterosystems based on zinc and cerium oxides, which allows controlling an activity of nanoparticles during their obtaining, as well as their optical properties, is identified.
