The report presents the results of researches carried out in 2017 on the project "Creation of highly effective soil substrates based on gel compositions for plant growing and recreation of badlands" additional departmental theme of research works in 2017 with young scientists leaders. With the use of modern physico-chemical, colloidal, biological and structural-mechanical research methods physico-chemical and structural-mechanical properties of natural and synthetic gel systems and their effect on the environment have been studied. It has been established that gel systems have a high sorption ability with respect to bioelements and are quite promising in use to improve soil fertility. The possibility of minerals transformation in formation and conditioning processes of hydro- and biogels is established. According to structural-mechanical and physico-chemical parameters, the developed compositions exceed the fertile soils. On the basis of the studied gel systems there were created efficient soil-substrates with immobilized micro- and macronutrients of special purpose for the formation of artificial soils, increasing the fertility of poor or depleted soils. In the Project, there were done vegetative studies of the bio- and hydrogel compositions effect on the state of soils and the development of plant cultures. It is shown that the addition of the created compositions to the soil significantly improves its aggregative state and leads to a significant increase in crop yields. In the laboratory, the possibility of remediation of badlands is shown. The researches and the received results allowed to develop special recommendations on creation and preparation of effective gel compositions for their subsequent practical use.
