As a result of such treatments on the surface of the VT6 alloy, the resulting composite coatings, which consist of an oxide, nitride or oxynitride layer and a diffusion sublayer of the main saturating element. It is shown that additional ion deposition of carbon has a positive effect on the antifriction characteristics of dry friction coatings with stainless steel Х18Н10Т. At the same time, the oxynitride coating has an advantage over others in protecting the titanium alloy from corrosion in a 0.9% NaCl solution at temperatures of 36.5-40°C. All composite coatings slightly reduce the mechanical characteristics of the titanium alloy VT6. If the short-term strength and ductility suffer insignificantly, the fatigue properties are reduced by ~30%. Carbon deposition practically does not affect the mechanical properties.
