As a result of the work, a study was carried out to study the preconditions for generation and distribution of natural gas-hydrate deposits within the shelf and part of the continental slope of the Black Sea. To ensure the efficiency and environmental friendliness of gas extraction from gas hydrates, a substitution method was proposed using hydrogen sulfide or carbon dioxide as a substitute and hydrate gas. The petrophysical properties of the gas-hydrate deposits in the Maikop series sediments and the position of their boundaries have been determined. In the course of researches, scientific and technical solutions for managing phase transitions in the process of extracting gas hydrates have been scientifically substantiated. The features of drilling through gas-hydrated deposits are investigated, ways of preventing accidents in the process of drilling through the gas-hydrated deposits have been determined.
