Aim of the work: to create a collection and to determine the biological characteristics of bacterial viruses isolated from different biotopes of the Antarctic Peninsula, including the rootsoil (rhizosphere) of higher Antarctic plants, and the study of the nature of the interaction in the "virus-host" system. Research methods: methods of virology, biology and statistics. The separation of phages isolates from susceptible rootstock bacteria of the higher Antarctic plants Deschampsia antarctica and Colobanthus rathernsis has been selected and the sensitive host has been selected for the detected phages. The basic biological properties of isolated phages have been studied: the spectrum of lithic activity, the efficiency of reproduction on sensitive strains of bacteria. The dynamics of the population and the morphological and structural organization of bacteriophages are studied. A description of the variety of bacteriophages has been made and a collection has been created according to their characteristics. Product Description popup.authors Андрійчук О.М.
