The comparable analysis of the films properties of titania modified by nitrogen and metal ions obtained by sol-gel and PLD methods is carried out. It is evident that the synthesis techniques allow to obtain the transperent coatings with high optical quality at relatively low temperatures. Using the numerous experimental methods for the investigation, the type of crystal phases formed in the structure of doped titania by metals and non-metals depended on synthesis method and synthesis conditions is shown. Due to the transformation of crystal phase, the change in optical, structural and photocatalytic properties is observed.
