It has been established that there is a significant influence on the decay observables from the phases of the amplitudes of the processes B -> K * V. It is proved that at the existing accuracy of experimental data and theoretical calculations it is premature to conclude that the LHCb experiments on the decay of the B meson to K * and a pair of muons indicate manifestation of new physics effects. The performed calculations are useful in planning experiments for searches of effects of new physics at the LHC CERN. The cross sections for the production of b-quarks, B-mesons and pairs of muons of different signs are calculated in junction with b-jets, taking into account processes beyond the leading order of QCD perturbation theory with 2, 3, 4 or 5 particles in the final states.
