Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 In the analysis of cytomorphological features of cells exposed to implantation materials on the basis of calcium phosphates, the unidirectional nature of the changes indicating an increase in their adhesive properties was established. This is evidenced by the formation of large areas of densely located clusters of branched cells in all studied cell lines. The results of the immunocytochemical study of the influence of domestic implantation materials on the basis of calcium phosphates on the adhesion properties of fibroblasts and cell lines of the human prostate and breast cancer revealed an increase in the expression of E and N-cadherin expression, especially in cells of both human prostate cancer lines. It was determined that the cultivation of human fibroblasts, prostate cancer cells and breast cancer cells with implantation materials based on calcium phosphates did not affect the level of their proliferative activity. A slight decrease in BMP-7 osteogenesis marker expression was observed in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Determination of cytokine levels in the culture medium from the cells using sensitive biologic test systems found that cell culture in the presence of calcium-phosphate based implants led to a decrease in the level of IL-6 production by normal human fibroblasts and IL-6 and IL-8 cells by human prostate cancer cell line LNCaP. Consequently, the results of studies indicate that the cultivation of malignantly transformed hormone-dependent cells with domestic implantation materials based on calcium phosphates leads to a decrease in their invasive and metastatic properties by changing their cytoarchitectonics, adhesion characteristics and reducing the production of IL-6 and IL-8.
