Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 The expression profile of circulating and tumor microRNAs responsible for apoptosis (miR-200b, -34a), invasion (miR-10b, -320a) and proliferation (miR-221, -21) in different growth stages of the carcinosarcoma Walker-256 was investigated. The maximum content of oncogenic miR-21, -221 and -10b (r = 0.76, 0.54 and 0.69, respectively) was registered in the carcinosarcoma Walker-256 tissue in the terminal growth phase (20th day after tumor transplantation). Minimum expression values for oncosuppressive miR-200b, -320a and -34a (r = -0.47; -0.64 and -0.65, respectively) were observed in tumor tissue in the exponential and terminal growth phases (15th and 20th day) of carcinosarcoma Walker-256. There is no reliable difference between the levels of expression of the tumor oncosuppressive miR-200b, -320a and -34a in animals at the exponential and terminal growth phases. It has been determined that the growth and progression of carcinosarcoma Walker-256 is accompanied by a significant increase in the level of oncogenic miR-21 and -10b (r = 0.54 and 0.67) and decreased oncosuppressive miR-200b and -320a (r = -0.53 and - 0.48) in the serum of animal on the exponential and terminal growth stages of tumors. Thus, the characteristic features of changes in the expression of oncogenic and oncosuppressive microRNAs in serum and tumor tissues of animals at different stages of carcinosarcoma growth of Walker-256 were established. The obtained data indicate the utility of studying the expression of circulating and tumor microRNA-10b, -21, -200b and -320a for prediction of human breast cancer course.
