The object of research is the planting of park territories in conditions of complex relief of Kyiv city. The purpose of the study is to develop a method for selecting woody plants and to provide recommendations on the formation of park plantations in the conditions of complex relief in Kyiv city. The methods of research: the theoretical and methodological basis of the research is the fundamental work of leading domestic and foreign researchers in the field of landscape architecture. The following methods in the process of research were used: analytical (literature and iconographic sources processing); graphic (cartographic materials estimation); systematic (selection of techniques for modeling the relief outline based on different combinations of woody plants life-form); methods of multicriteria analysis (ranking of woody plants according to given selection criteria); modelling (creation of landscape correction models). The significance of the results obtained is in substantiating of the theoretical aspects of the parks plants in conditions of complex relief in Kyiv. The proposed methodological approach can be used as a simulation model for various techniques of relief modelling, which will provide more extensive possibilities to improve the plantations composition. This method is aimed at further research connected to the source database extending, taking into account the soil and climatic zones, improving the evaluation process and the formation of evaluation criteria of plants properties.
