V. Seletskyi. - Kyiv, 2017. Research object is a modern document information resource on current issues regarding the development of education in Ukraine and abroad. Research aim is to providethe educational spherewith bibliographic, abstract and analytical documents on current issues regarding the development of national and foreign education in the course of integration of Ukraineinto European and world educational space. Researchproject description The research is a topical one as there is an objective necessity to reform, democratise and improve the quality of education in Ukraine, and it should be based on the national historical and cultural values, traditions and customsand be realised in the context of civil society formation and integration of Ukraine into the world and European Community. The optimisation of providing scientific information support to the educational system will offer an opportunity to researchers and pedagogues to use bibliographic, abstract and analytical information; it will result in reducedexpenditure of time and effortwhile working with various sources in order to find necessary information. The main aims of the researchare to obtain scientific and applied results, in particular to analyse source and historiographical base regarding education in Ukraine and abroad, summarisecurrent issues on the development of education abroad, determine the nature and content of educational reform in Ukraine. The research work was focused on the study of user information needs regarding education in Ukraine and abroad, the level of assisting users in meeting their needsfor bibliographic, abstract and analyticalinformationat V.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraine, and providing scientific information support through the disclosure of the current state of the research concerningthe national and foreign education, especially in the context of the priority lines of reform and innovation. The following products were prepared and made public in the course of this research work: one biobibliographic index, two issues of reference book, analytical, abstract and bibliographic paperson education in Ukraine and abroad. The strategies ofV.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraineregarding the improvement of providing scientific information support tothe national education are determined. The following empirical and theoretical methodsof sociohumanitarian and sociocommunicative sciences were used: observation, modeling, abstraction, prediction, document analysis and synthesis, monitoring of document flow, and others. During the preparatory stage of the research workthe scientists of V.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraine formed the source and historiographical base on the research, studied the regulatory and legal basisconcerning the development of the national education in the context of European integration and globalisation process, analysed the professional information needs of users in the sources of bibliographic, abstract and analytical information regardingthe development of educationin Ukraine and abroad. It is proved that at present the leading factor in the development of scientific communication is accessibility and quality of information that can be taken from as much as possible sources. As the available scientific information content increases, the scientistsface the problem of orientation in information sources suitable for use in the process of achieving research mission. It is grounded that the main task of modern scientific pedagogicallibraries is to prepare information materials on the development ofeducationin Ukraine and abroad, as there is a need to optimise the system of providing scientific information support to the educational sphere in the course of integration of Ukraine into European and world educational space. A set of bibliographic, abstract and analytical materials on current problems in the sphere of pedagogy and psychology of education was developed in order to modernise scientific information activity of education libraries. The development ofPeriodicalsdatabase and e-catalogue abstract database was carried out through corporate relations with institutions of the system of education libraries under theNAES of Ukraine. The degree of introduction: scientific products prepared during the current year have been spread among education libraries underthe MES of Ukraine and NAES of Ukraine for practical introduction of research findings into the process of providingscientific information support to the educational sphere of Ukraine in the course of European integration and globalisation process. The sphere of application:V.O. SukhomlynskyiSSPL of Ukraine, the system of education libraries underthe MES of Ukraine and NAES of Ukraine, libraries of other systems and departments; freeaccess to scientific information products prepared by the results of the research (they are available on the library website and e-library of theNAES of Ukraine). Practical significance of the results: research findings are of great practical value as they can be used for the development of the system of providing scientific information support to research activities and educational process in the context of integration ofUkraineinto European and world educational space. Economic efficiency:intensification of research activity and educational process in the educational sphere of Ukraine through the creation of fundamentally new opportunities in searching for and using scientific information. Prognostic assumptions concerning the development of the research object:quantitative and qualitative growth of modern documentinformation resource on current issues regarding the development of education in Ukraine and abroad, the improvement of the system of providing scientific information support to the educational sphere taking into account European integration and globalisation process in the educational and scientific sectors.
