The object of the research is the printed and electronic publications, the pages of which reveals a complex of questions about the essence, content and trends of the history of Ukrainian pedagogy and education in the period from 1917 to 2017. The purpose of the study is the publication of new information, analytical materials on the development of national pedagogy and education in different periods of Ukrainian statehood for their scientific reflection and implementation in an active scientific and information circulation. The implementation of the theme involves the use and combination of philosophical, general science and special methods of socio-humanities, in particular methods, search-bibliographic method of studying archival, library funds, catalogs, descriptions, bibliographic publications; historical and pedagogical, comparative and statistical analysis of the facts and phenomena, their synthesis for the study of the evolution of Ukrainian national education and education, the establishment of the main trends of the process of forming the concepts of the national school; subject-target analysis of printed and periodicals, which are in the library's funds; classification and systematization of a diverse source base in order to obtain objective information on the development of national education in Ukraine, the contribution of outstanding educators and the role of individual periodicals in the development of the national educational and educational space; interpretation, theoretical generalization and comparison of the processed materials for the formulation of conclusions and comprehension, the introduction of the results of scientific research into an active scientific and practical turn. At the preparatory stage of the GDR, scientists of the Dnipro V.O. Sukhomlynskyi determined the main tasks of the research and conceptual approaches to their solution; A program of scientific research has been developed in which its relevance, novelty and perspective were substantiated, the purpose, task, object, subject and methods of the research were defined, the expected results, the ways of their implementation and the social effect were outlined; a source search for materials was made, a source and historiographic research base was formed; The terminology system of the topic is described; an integral set of ideas on the development of national pedagogy in Ukraine was studied; the criteria for selecting documents and texts on the problems of reforming education in independent Ukraine have been developed.
