The performed local seismic tomography made it possible to study the structure of the crust of the Crimean Mountains at depths of 10-30 km, where for the first time several high-velocity crustal bodies with the concentration of hypocenters of the earthquakes were detected. Based on the results of geological and geophysical studies of a wide range executed during the project, in the Mountainous Crimea and the northern part of the Black Sea there were identified structures referring to the two main phases of the evolution of the region - the Mesozoic extension (associated with the opening of the Black Sea) and the Cenozoic compression (alpine stage of tectogenesis, due to which the Crimean Mountains were formed).
