Research domain - the development and application of methods of knowledge engineering and intelligent data processing to enhance the intelligence and functionality of computerized modeling, design, structural and parametric optimization of multi-stage combined processes IPD of billets, detection of informational process parameters and hidden dependencies between them. Theoretical and practical results - methods of effective information support and automated design of processes and objects for IPD. The choice and justification of methods of structural and parametric optimization, methods of integration with CAD / CAE-systems are carried out. Developed: methodology for organizing knowledge bases on the domain area and methods of data processing on the basis of ontological approach and software that integrates various software technologies and packages using dynamic data exchange; composition of components and functions of the information system for designing optimal processes for obtaining parts with given mechanical characteristics; parametric models of tools, products and accessories, mathematical models of processes of IPD new compact and noncompact materials (reversal shift, even-angle angular extrusion, screw shift, etc.); components of information technology based on the use of models of multi-stage technological IPD processes, as well as combined processes of the processing; methods of effective information support and automated design of processes and objects for IPD, methods of processing the results of modeling and quality criteria for structural and parametric optimization; prospective routes for IPDs and combined processes of the processing for billets. Novelty - the developed mathematical and algorithmic support, as well as a set of software complexes that consistently solve the tasks of data processing and information support of engineering activities in the area of IPD processes of new compact and noncompact materials. The options of technical solutions for new processes of IPD developed on the basis of ontological approach are obtained. Integration efficiency - improvement of the methodology of creating information support systems for engineering activities on the basis of the intellectual analysis of data and methods of knowledge engineering that will support the adoption of technical solutions based on the extracted knowledge of data and thus to increase the productivity of designers and technologists. Application area - processes of the analysis of subject domains of activity in organizational and technical systems, design of products, technological processes of their production and equipment, including in mechanical engineering.
